Fantastic resource for learning a language in preparation for your travels. There are a wide range of tutors and price points so hopefully you can find someone who can really help you clean up your weak spots in a month or two or alternatively, to work with for years to help you master a language. My Greek tutor was incredibly helpful to me both in learning about the language and the culture. She even flew to the mainland to join our family for a live performance so we could meet in person when we finally got to go to Greece, a real treat! I spent months teaching myself Greek using free or less expensive methods, and then worked with her for the last few months before our trip. With her help, I was able to to talk a little with local folks while we were there and had a number of people complement me on my Greek. There is nothing like learning a language to understand more about the people and culture of your destination and also to immediately communicate that you respect them enough to invest in learning their language. Preply is one of may favorite language learning resources, although your experience will depend on the actual tutor you work with. I have recommended Preply to two other people who used it in preparation for their trips and they both got a lot out of it too.
